Student Community Programs
The Student Engagement Center (SEC) is committed to helping Jayhawks build community outside of the classroom. Student community program resources encourage connections with peers through departmentally hosted programming, intentional connection with incoming students to help them find student organizations of interest, and by helping established organizations operate to their fullest potential.
How we do this:
- Assisting students in sifting through over 600 student organizations to find the best options that meet their interests and needs.
- Ensures that each student organization has established touchpoints with SEC staff members to ensure understanding of responsibilities such as media training, potential member outreach, event planning 101, funding opportunities and more.
- Encouraging community building outside of the classroom for graduate students with our monthly ‘Grad Gathering’ dinner series.
- Offering resources and accessible programming that contribute to the success and inclusion of non-traditional and commuter student populations.
